If you can’t read the t-shirt it says, "they will know we are Christians by our t-shirts." It was made by singer/songwriter Justin McRoberts. Pretty funny hugh, but so true. Sometimes, actually, maybe most times our bumper sticker/Jesus Fishes/T-shirts say more about our faith than our lives. Here’s a quote by the man, Brennan Manning, from my daily reading:
"It is symptomatic that in the Western world where the Church is 2000 years old, the mass of people still pass Christianity by. Why? Because the visible presence of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit in Christians as a whole, apart from a few individuals, is no longer present.
I write this to encourage and focus you on the way that you live. Your actions have consequences not only on you, but on how you portray your faith and beliefs. Most of all though, give love. This weekend was great waiting around in a little room at the hospital where our friend’s entire family and some friends gathered to await the birth of a new baby. It was love that brought them there and love that kept them there waiting. It was nice to be in that room. Show someone that you care, don’t just tell them that you do by wearing your cool T-shirt. by the way…those t-shirts aren’t cool.
